Millions of Patients are Already Chatting with Chattbotz Healthcare AI

Right now, healthcare innovation is a hot topic. The COVID-19 pandemic has exposed significant flaws and deficiencies in the current healthcare system. Primary care practices are struggling to survive. Opinions on the best path forward often involve discussions of our national healthcare model — and unsurprisingly, our representatives differ widely on the approach they think is best. Discussions around changing the model will only continue, making now a great time to understand other global coverage systems better.

Introduction to Chattbotz Healthcare AI

A few weeks ago, I wrote a review of the IBM Watson Health Humana Community Health app, launched in December 2015 and currently is the most widely used healthcare AI app, with millions of users. I discussed the app’s effectiveness, its unique use of AI, and the kinds of data it was using to make predictions, which are based on its analysis of patient visits. One of the most common themes of the review was the need to augment the current model with a patient-centered model built on patient preferences, emotions, and health issues. There is little to be gained in a data-driven model if the patient’s only choice is between a healthcare organization that does not understand their preferences and a high-priced high-tech option indifferent to their needs.

What is the Current Healthcare System?

The current model is built around local practices, hospitals, outpatient centers, etc. Each practice has its dedicated physician, nurses, and other personnel. Significant network reimbursements for procedures, drugs, and even ambulances are grouped by location and prescribed by a few critical physicians. Inter-physician communication is one-way. But the current system is unworkable, inefficient, and downright illegal. Part of the problem is that it has lacked large-scale collaboration from physicians for a very long time. Today, doctors spend a massive amount of time waiting to be scheduled in hospitals or outpatient centers. And while these facilities have taken on more responsibilities over the past years, doctor access remains very limited.

What is the NHS?

The National Health Service was founded in 1948. Currently, around 9,000 hospital trusts in England provide free care for everyone, regardless of their ability to pay. In some ways, the system is failing. The population of the United Kingdom is aging, and the NHS is not prepared. Older people are waiting longer than ever for hip replacements and cataract-removal surgery, and some are losing their livelihoods. Many countries are trying to fix this by using AI to digitize their healthcare systems. This is just the beginning. While we tend to think of AI in terms of cutting-edge advances such as self-driving cars, the big news is that AI is making headway in healthcare. What began as a science project is becoming a mainstream industry.

How does Chattbotz compare to other healthcare systems?

Chattbotz is unique because it doesn’t take the omniscient approach of Google’s DeepMind. Instead, it is built around patients and their doctors, so the software “works closely with our customers to address common medical challenges like being a healthy office,” said Eran Fox-Lazarsky, CEO of Chattbotz Healthcare. Fox-Lazarsky explains that Chattbotz focuses on two primary tasks: first, analyze a patient’s data and input it into the system so doctors can view it more easily; second, provide data for future diagnoses and treatment options. “These are the three fundamental parts of the system. The other 50 percent is all about awareness,” he explained. “Some physicians don’t even know they need to know all the systems out there, and others are just learning.

What are types of healthcare?

These days, everyone is talking about healthcare. Chatbots provide a way to have an open discussion around their favorite topic. The conversations could focus on a single topic or multiple, potentially conflicting topics. However you choose to use the chatbot, it can be an exciting part of your healthcare management arsenal. The healthcare industry is shifting. Digital tools are rapidly changing the way we provide care. Chatbots are a great way to improve healthcare for patients and providers by providing a flexible and cost-effective solution for basic questions and improving customer experience. Chatbots can also help bridge a digital gap between patients and providers.
